Frequently asked questions
Where and when will my therapy take place?
Sessions can be arranged to take place in private clinic space in North Shields or Morpeth, or online. There is daytime and evening appointment availability on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday, depending on your preferred location.
Are therapy sessions confidential?
Yes, the contents of your therapy are confidential. Exceptions to this would be if your therapist was required to disclose information by a court of law or if they were concerned about a risk of serious harm to you or someone else. If your therapist is seriously worried about your (or someone else’s) welfare, their duty of care means that they must contact your GP or emergency services, even without prior your consent, although this would always be a last resort.
Our systems and processes are fully GDPR compliant. You will be sent a full copy of our privacy and data protection documents at booking.
What happens if I need to cancel an appointment?
If you need to cancel or rearrange your appointment, please let your therapist know as soon as possible. We will not charge if you give us more than 48 hours notice. Appointments cancelled within 48 hours of your appointment or if you do not attend a scheduled appointment, will be charged in full.
Making a complaint
We strive to provide excellent care and be in dialogue with you throughout our work together. We welcome you to talk with us about any concerns, complaints or feedback you have.
However, if you are unhappy with the resolution of any concern or complaint, you are able to contact the regulatory bodies we are registered with; HCPC, NMC and ACAT.
Are you able to help in a crisis?
We are not a crisis service. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, please contact your GP immediately and ask for an urgent appointment, attend A&E or call the Samaritans on 116 123.
